MSU Announces 2nd Annual SBC Awards in Instructional Technology

Libraries, Computing, and Technology at MSU announces the second annual awards program, generously funded by SBC, to recognize outstanding contributions in the use and development of information technology for teaching and learning in credit-bearing courses at Michigan State University.

Two award categories: Blended/Enhanced and Fully Online
A first place cash award and honorable mention “best practice” certificates will be given for both categories in 2006.
Category one: Blended (hybrid) or Enhanced Course
An in-person course offered in 2005-2006 in which online tools are used effectively to enhance teaching and learning, i.e. enhanced course, or in which online tools replace some of the in-person class time, i.e. hybrid, also referred to as blended course.
Category two: Fully Online Course
A course offered in 2005-2006, which meets wholly online, i.e. not in the classroom, and demonstrates effective and innovative uses of technology for teaching and learning.
