Old ANGEL Courses and Groups to be Removed

Starting on December 22, 2008, groups in MSU’s ANGEL course management system that have not been accessed in more than six months or that are found to have no content and courses that are two or more years old will be deleted along with all associated content and records from the ANGEL system.
Individuals with courses two or more years old or groups six or more months old are encouraged to export associated content prior to December 22, 2008.
To export content in ANGEL:
1. Log into your ANGEL group, and go to the “Manage” tab.
2. Click “Export Wizard.”
3. Click “ANGEL Archive.”
4. Leave all of the boxes checked, and click “Submit.”
5. Once the export is complete, click “Download File,” and save the
file to an alternative locations (external hard drive, AFS space, etc.).

MSU Computing Services Unavailable the Morning of Friday, November 14

An unexpected power outage occurred in MSU’s Computer Center on Friday, November 14, 2008. Many computing services were unavailable after an emergency power-off button was triggered during renovations to the datacenter within the building. Power was restored within forty-five minutes. Several computing services including MSU’s on-campus network, centrally supported e-mail (mail.msu.edu), ANGEL course management, and AFS storage were affected.
All services that experienced interruptions were restored by 10:00 a.m. Friday. Status information about service interruptions and maintenance of information technology on campus is posted at servicestatus.msu.edu and available by calling the ATS Help Desk at (517) 432-6200.
