August 2 , 2007
Libraries, Computing, and Technology hosted an inaugural MSU IT Conference on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. It was the first of many planned opportunities to recognize and share the creativity and forward thinking contributions information technology, and the people behind the technology, make to Michigan State University (MSU).
It was an opportunity for the people devoting their time and energy to enhancing the technology experience for students, faculty, and staff at MSU to come together as a cohesive group.
The conference showcased expert-led sessions to inform and inspire the growing MSU IT community.
Dr. Bradley C. Wheeler served as keynote speaker. Dr. Wheeler is the Vice President for Information Technology at Indiana University. Prior to this position, he was the CIO and Dean of IT with responsibility for all of the university’s highly leveraged IT services for the eight campuses. He currently serves in leadership roles for over $20M of shared university investments in open source software and serves on the board of the Sakai Foundation and chairs the Kuali Foundation Board. As a Professor of Information Systems at IU’s Kelley School of Business, he teaches MBA courses in Executive Leadership of IT Strategy, and has taught e-business and e-learning courses for corporate/academic audiences in 26 countries on six continents.
